Who we are
Body Bites (bodybites.com.au) is an online store run by Haelan Project, from the Burleigh Heads region of Queensland. “We”, “us” and “our” means Body Bites. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share your personal information, and how to access or correct it or make a complaint.
What we collect
- Order and account details: your name, email, phone, billing and delivery addresses, order history, and any account login you create.
- Payment details: these are handled by our payment providers. We don’t see or store your full card number.
- Messages: emails, contact form submissions and reviews you send us.
- Marketing preferences: whether you’ve subscribed to our emails.
- Website data: your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and cookies (see below).
We don’t intentionally collect sensitive information, such as health information. Please don’t send us health details we don’t need. If you include them in a message, we’ll use them only to answer you.
You can browse without giving your name, but we need contact and delivery details to fill an order.
How we collect it
Directly from you when you order, create an account, subscribe, contact us or leave a review; automatically through cookies and similar tools when you use the site; and from our payment providers when they confirm a payment.
Why we use it
- To process, deliver and support your orders, including returns and warranty claims.
- To answer your questions.
- To send marketing emails, but only if you’ve agreed. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and we follow the Spam Act 2003.
- To prevent fraud, spam and abuse of the website.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as tax and consumer law records.
Who we share it with
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Stripe: card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link payments, plus fraud checks.
- Klarna: if you choose Klarna, it receives your order and contact details and may run a credit check under its own privacy policy.
- Brevo: sending our order and marketing emails, and managing subscriptions.
- Google Analytics (property G-ZTVN47FVD4): website usage statistics, using cookies.
- Cloudflare (including Turnstile): website security, performance and bot protection on our forms. Turnstile checks that a real person is submitting a form.
- Zoho Mail: hosts our info@bodybites.com.au mailbox, so emails you send us are stored there.
- Our website host and WordPress/WooCommerce plugins: run the store and store order records.
- Couriers and Australia Post: your name, address and phone number for delivery.
- Our device supplier: only if you make a warranty claim, and only the details needed for that claim.
- Advisers and authorities: our accountant or legal advisers, or where the law requires it.
We don’t sell your personal information.
Overseas disclosure
Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States, the European Union and other countries where they operate (for example Stripe, Klarna, Brevo, Google, Cloudflare and Zoho). We use reputable providers with their own privacy and security commitments, and we take reasonable steps under APP 8 to make sure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies to keep your cart and login working, to protect our forms, and, through Google Analytics, to measure site use. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, though parts of the checkout may then not work. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
Security and retention
We use HTTPS, reputable providers, strong passwords and limited access. We keep order records for as long as tax and consumer law require (generally 5 to 7 years), and other information only while we need it. After that we delete or de-identify it. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we’ll tell you and, where required, the OAIC.
Access, correction and opting out
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or unsubscribe from marketing at any time. Email info@bodybites.com.au. We’ll reply within 30 days. We’ll confirm your identity first, and we won’t charge you for the request.
Complaints
If you think we’ve mishandled your information, email info@bodybites.com.au and we’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes
We may update this policy. The latest version will always be on this page.
